{"id":28,"date":"2015-11-24T22:06:02","date_gmt":"2015-11-24T22:06:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.backsidepixels.com\/beausourire\/wordpress\/?p=28"},"modified":"2016-01-28T21:43:01","modified_gmt":"2016-01-28T20:43:01","slug":"orthodontie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/en\/orthodontie\/","title":{"rendered":"Orthodontics"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pl-28\"  class=\"panel-layout\" ><div id=\"pg-28-0\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-28-0-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-28-0-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"0\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-405\" src=\"http:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ortho_smile_regular1.jpg\" alt=\"ortho_smile_regular[1]\" width=\"242\" height=\"123\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ortho_smile_regular1.jpg 242w, https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ortho_smile_regular1-150x76.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 242px) 100vw, 242px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Orthodontic treatments\u00a0can be divided into\u00a0three distinct phases:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><b>Interception\u00a0and\u00a0treatment\u00a0of decompensation<\/b>:\u00a0this\u00a0step is to\u00a0correct\u00a0oral habits, maintain\u00a0space\u00a0for permanent teeth\u00a0and\u00a0make a\u00a0palatal expansion\u00a0to correct the\u00a0lack of space or\u00a0to extract teeth.\u00a0These treatments\u00a0are not necessary\u00a0for all patients;\u00a0we begin\u00a0this phase\u00a0at the age of\u00a07-8 years old,\u00a0only in patients\u00a0who require\u00a0correction\u00a0of the dento-alveolar\u00a0relation which could lessen the need of\u00a0skeletal\u00a0correction.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><b>Orthopedic treatments<\/b>:\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0alteration of\u00a0the\u00a0skeletal\u00a0environment,\u00a0it is the phase of the devices\u00a0that allow us\u00a0to control\u00a0bone growth\u00a0in\u00a0adolescents.\u00a0In most cases,\u00a0this phase\u00a0starts before puberty\u00a0(11\u00a0years of age for girls\u00a0and 14\u00a0years of age for boys).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><b>Comprehensive\u00a0treatment<\/b>: the last\u00a0phase is when we put the\u00a0'braces'\u00a0or\u00a0any other\u00a0system\u00a0of\u00a0invisible orthodontics\u00a0to align\u00a0all the teeth.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These phases\u00a0are often continuous in time,\u00a0with a phase\u00a0leading immediately\u00a0to the next one. Some cases\u00a0are much more complex\u00a0and\u00a0may require surgery,\u00a0but\u00a0we do not want\u00a0to go into details,\u00a0since our goal is\u00a0to inform you\u00a0of treatment options.<\/p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pgc-28-0-1\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-28-0-1-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"1\" ><div class=\"panel-widget-style panel-widget-style-for-28-0-1-0\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-403 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ortho_gold1.jpg\" alt=\"ortho_gold[1]\" width=\"252\" height=\"118\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ortho_gold1.jpg 252w, https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ortho_gold1-250x117.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ortho_gold1-150x70.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 252px) 100vw, 252px\" \/>The best time to begin orthodontic treatments always depends on the patient. Between the ages of 6 to 8, we can begin to predict the pattern of the dento-skeletal growth of the patient. This is when we plan the future steps. If the patient has an obvious lack of space, we try to correct the problem immediately so that the next steps are easier or even unnecessary.<\/p>\n<p>For example: an 8 year old child who still sucks his\/her thumb may prevent the normal development of the palate due to the pressure of the finger and create a deep palate, a lack of space and overlapping adult teeth in the future. To counter this, we can make a device that will firstly fix the bad habit while expanding the palate.<\/p>\n<p>In a matter of 6 to 9 months, this treatment will bring the patient to the ideal position for him to growth as he should without needing braces or surgery in the future. In other cases, the patient may not need treatment until the age of 12-13 or even later if we determine that the he or she would respond better to a treatment when his or her oral hygiene habits improve.<\/p>\n<p>There are so many\u00a0variations\u00a0between patients that\u00a0we cannot\u00a0predict the\u00a0best time to start\u00a0treatment\u00a0without seeing\u00a0the patients.\u00a0We recommend\u00a0an\u00a0orthodontic evaluation of the around the age or 7, to discuss the facial\u00a0growth\u00a0and the different treatment plans. <strong>We review\u00a0our patients\u00a0every 6 months\u00a0and\u00a0reassess\u00a0the situation\u00a0after each visit\u00a0in order to begin treatment\u00a0at the optimal time.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-28-1\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-28-1-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-28-1-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"2\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h2><b>Invisible Orthodontics<\/b>\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-404 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ortho_inspire_Closeup1.jpg\" alt=\"ortho_inspire_Closeup[1]\" width=\"252\" height=\"119\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ortho_inspire_Closeup1.jpg 252w, https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ortho_inspire_Closeup1-250x118.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/ortho_inspire_Closeup1-150x71.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 252px) 100vw, 252px\" \/>Nowadays adults are beginning to reconsider the possibility of straightening their teeth. Therefore, as the demand increased, the market adjusted. There are now a multitude of dental realignment systems that are almost invisible. These systems are first and foremost brackets of porcelain or plastic (the color may change a little during treatment).<\/p>\n<p>There are also\u00a0lingual braces\u00a0that are\u00a0less\u00a0used because the\u00a0treatment is very complicated for\u00a0the dentist\u00a0and\u00a0we can\u00a0have\u00a0more\u00a0aesthetically pleasing and functional\u00a0results\u00a0with other systems.<\/p>\n<p>Recently,\u00a0a new system of\u00a0housing\u00a0has been made available on the market: <strong>the Damon-type brackets (Damon\u00a02, 3,\u00a0Mx,\u00a0Q)<\/strong>.\u00a0Currently,\u00a0only\u00a0the\u00a0brackets\u00a0on the front teeth\u00a0are transparent. The reason we\u00a0classify them\u00a0as\u00a0invisible orthodontics\u00a0is that\u00a0treatment time\u00a0is reduced by about 30%\u00a0to 50%.\u00a0So\u00a0the treatment\u00a0is slightly\u00a0compromised\u00a0on the aesthetic side by\u00a0the little\u00a0wire\u00a0between the\u00a0boxes,\u00a0but the patient\u00a0completes\u00a0the treatment\u00a0in 9\u00a0to 16 months.\u00a0The system\u00a0does not use elastics\u00a0to hold the\u00a0boxes\u00a0to the\u00a0wire\u00a0but rather\u00a0a small door,\u00a0it takes away\u00a0the resistance\u00a0and\u00a0also reduces\u00a0the number of\u00a0appointments required to complete\u00a0the treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Since early\u00a02011,\u00a0<strong>we use the\u00a0Insignia\u00a0system<\/strong>\u00a0which\u00a0allows us to accelerate\u00a0the treatment time\u00a0by using\u00a0individualized\u00a0orthodontic\u00a0brackets and wires.\u00a0Imagine\u00a0a 3D virtual model\u00a0of your teeth\u00a0where the\u00a0dentist can\u00a0move\u00a0each tooth\u00a0individually\u00a0in three-dimensions\u00a0to get the\u00a0optimal result.\u00a0It is a system\u00a0that allows\u00a0precise\u00a0control\u00a0of\u00a0the orthodontic treatments from the beginning until the end\u00a0to maximize\u00a0the effectiveness of the treatment.<\/p>\n<h2><b><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-28-2\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-28-2-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-28-2-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"3\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-402 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/D3_TwinSplitTypodont1.jpg\" alt=\"D3_TwinSplitTypodont[1]\" width=\"250\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/D3_TwinSplitTypodont1.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/D3_TwinSplitTypodont1-188x150.jpg 188w, https:\/\/www.beausourire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/D3_TwinSplitTypodont1-150x120.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>The ideal occlusion\u00a0of each patient\u00a0is modeled\u00a0in a\u00a03D\u00a0virtual program\u00a0which then\u00a0makes it possible to manufacture brackets and\u00a0wires\u00a0tailored to\u00a0the\u00a0planned\u00a0final position\u00a0of the teeth determined by the dentist.
